Welcome to the final video of our Surface Modeling series! In this tutorial, we take all the complex wireframe and surfacing work we've done in the previous episodes and turn it into a real, functional part. The transition from "Surface" to "Solid" is where many designers get stuck. If your surfaces aren't perfectly tangent or if they have gaps, the Sew command will fail. I walk you through how to mirror your geometry, verify your solid body, and then apply mechanical details like wall thickness (Shell) and mounting features. In this tutorial, you will learn: Finalizing the Surface: Creating the last patch using Studio Surface with tangency. Mirror Geometry: Creating the full symmetric body. Bounded Plane: Closing the open ends of the model. Sew & Solidify: How to combine sheets into a single solid body (and how to check if it worked!). Shell Command: Applying a uniform 1mm wall thickness for die casting. Detailing: Adding the top mounting boss, ribs, and side cutouts using Extrude & Subtract. ⏱️ Timestamps for this Lesson: [00:00] - Creating the Final Studio Surface Patch [02:50] - Mirroring the Surface Body [03:04] - Closing the Volume with 'Bounded Plane' [04:00] - Crucial Step: Using 'Sew' to Create a Solid Body [04:32] - Modeling the Top Mounting Boss [07:12] - Creating the Shell (1mm Wall Thickness) [07:50] - Adding Internal Ribs & Structural Details [10:17] - Creating Side Cutouts with 'Divide Face' & 'Subtract' [14:00] - Final Model Review & Visualization 👇 Join the Discussion: The "Sew" command can be tricky! Do you usually use the "Examine Geometry" tool to find gaps before sewing?
