It relies heavily on lateral videofluoroscopy – with endoscopy when indicated – to assess palate characteristics, function and length. Its goal is to optimize a patient’s palate function and manage Velopharyngeal insufficiency (VPI) as effectively as possible. Join our presenters as they discuss the rationale and evidence for the GOSH protocol and share examples of how it assists in joint decision-making within a team-based approach to cleft. We’ll explore how learning from this protocol can inform approaches to VPI management in low and middle-income country contexts.
