An international group named after Satan will soon open its first abortion clinic in the United States. The Satanic Temple, which claims to "not believe in a literal Satan," will provide Telehealth screenings and prescribe abortion pills for patients in New Mexico. The name of the up and coming facility is the Samuel Alito's Mom's Satanic Abortion Clinic. The group pledges to provide "religious medication abortion care." Father Steve Grunow, CEO of Word on Fire Ministries, joins to share whether there is any sense to be made of this and what his reaction is. There is also the name of the New Mexico clinic, in mockery of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito's mother. The Satanic Temple cofounder explains, saying "In 1950, Samuel Alito's mother did not have options, and look what happened." Fr. Grunow tells us his thoughts on that. In related news, New York City just unveiled a horned statue of former Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, in honor of her fight for abortion rights. Critics call it a Satanic golden Medusa. At some point you'd think abortion advocates would want to distance themselves from ideas like Satanism and evil, but this doesn't seem to be the case of late. Fr. Grunow discusses why he thinks this is. On another note, a recent report from Catholic Vote reveals nearly 300 attacks against churches since 2020. Fr. Grunow explains why he thinks this is happening. EWTN News Nightly provides the latest news and analysis from a Catholic perspective.
