You know, coming up with a title for these videos takes almost as long as making them. I kid, of course. Mostly. Painting a striking, impressive infantry-based army might seem like a chore, but with the right tools for the job you can cut corners, save time, and still come out with something that looks ace when it's on the table! Combining The Army Painter's very first and very latest painting products, here's how I plan to rocket through my 30k in 30 Days - 3000pts of Death Guard for The Horus Heresy. Demonstrating on a character miniature lets me show every step of the method used, with figures like Sergeants and ordinary Legionaries being much simpler; just don't paint as much gold or fuss over the capes they don't have! 00:00 - Intro 01:01 - Priming Notes 02:01 - Speedpaint Basecoats 07:05 - Acrylic Basecoats 09:23 - Dip Preparation & Application 13:43 - Apply your Decals! 14:03 - Matt Varnish Spray 14:57 - Highlights & Finishing Touches 18:59 - Weathering 22:41 - Basing Tips 24:47 - The Finished Centurion! Thanks to Producer Patrons Alan, Kyrie, Andrew, Rod, Phil, Ben, Robison, David Kinney, Fred, Fool in a Hat, and Chris - as well as all the other Patrons that made this video possible, and Exit23 Games for recording equipment that helps keep the channel ticking over! Drybrush heavily first with Burning Ore, then again with Dorado Skin for a 'radioactive wasteland' base. Add Highland Tufts as I have here, or try Wasteland Tufts for a more deadened, dessicated, dried-out look.
