The free event took place at The Rock Steady in Oakland, and featured four authors with recent publications on cannabis. Cheri Sicard: Mary Jane http://sealpress.com/books/mary-jane/ Smoke Reports attended the event and was able to capture some great photos that capture the cannabis atmosphere. The Rock Steady is a very intimate bar in Oakland, and it was packed for the Cannabis Author Showcase. There were cannabis groups tabling outside, and inside, the audience was seated around the speakers. The atmosphere was incredibly respectful, which complimented the overall message that cannabis is shifting to a more positive place on the social spectrum. All four of the books cover different themes within cannabis culture. The authors all clearly took their work very seriously, and have provided the cannabis community will valuable information that needed to be published. Each author spent fifteen minutes discussing their work, and then answered questions regarding many issues within cannabis. The highlight of the evening for our team was that the authors stayed afterward to sign copies of their books, as well as chat about the future of cannabis. When leading figures in the cannabis community are able to connect on a personal level with their readers, it truly shows how encompassing this plant can be.
