Making an upcycled plastic container into a DIFFUSER and a DIY DIFFUSER OIL!

Made a diffuser in two different ways! One the traditional bottle shape with reed diffuser and the other uses rice in a bowl. I’ve created the oil for the reed and bottle by using ¾ cup carrier oil and about 25-50 drops of scented oil. In the rice version you drop in as much scented oil as you desire (20-25 drops) it works fast and is easy but does not last as long. This is the first in a series of videos I will have on ways to upcycle some single serving plastic containers. Obviously, the best idea is not to purchase them in the first place. (There is a glass jug version of this apple juice available through Target, by the way, but at the time we didn’t know that.) However, we were rushing to pick-up food and drink for our child who was soon to be released from the hospital and required a special diet. Happy to report that they are ok now and just about every one of the plastic bottles have been upcycled! Of course, as these are number 1 and clear plastic, they are recyclable. This first video is of my attempts to reuse them using airdry clay. I have tried a few brands of airdry clay and found most of them did quite well on their own but if you are wrapping clay around an armature, like with these plastic bottles, use a clay that has paper fibers in it. It shrinks less and that means less cracking. I learned this from Ivett DIY. But in my experience finding for certain which clays were solely earth based clay and which ones were a paper base wasn’t that easy. However, I did notice both Ivett and my other favorite YouTuber, who works with airdry clay, Red Rocking Bird, like to use DAS. It is now my favorite as well. Easy to work with and priced well.
