It's here! Chronicle is here! Get ready, ghost hunters! The highly anticipated Phasmophobia Chronicle Update, launching on June 24, 2025, brings a massive overhaul to the popular co-op horror game. This update introduces a revamped evidence collection system, new equipment, and exciting gameplay enhancements. The lobby gets a shiny makeover with updated trophies and a new menu featuring Twitch Drops, where players can earn badges by watching Kinetic Games partners for a potential two-hour minimum. The Sound Recorder captures creepy audio evidence like paranormal whispers, laughter, and spirit box responses. The journal now has a Media tab, organizing photos, videos, and sounds, with 13 unique media captures needed for a perfect investigation. Unique captures earn extra XP and cash, influenced by equipment tier and a reward multiplier. Key media types include photos of EMF, Ghost Writing, UV, bones, and ghosts (but not salt or doors), videos of DOTS ghosts, ouija board interactions, and ghost hunts, and sound recordings of EMF 5 readings and ghost events. The van’s monitor upgrades with a larger screen, CCTV tabs, and zoom functionality, allowing van players to record remotely. Objectives and challenges, like the new "On Record" weekly challenge, are refreshed, while the crucifix now shows a visible cooldown. New ghost sounds and potential behavior changes (e.g., Banshee wail) add intrigue, and the Grafton Farmhouse rework is teased post-update. Solo play may challenge newbies with the 13-media goal, but teamwork makes it rewarding.
