When we began in 1997, there were 5 mission pillars that we set out to accomplish. To date, we have accomplished 4 of those 5 goals, with “a cure” being the final piece. A key tenet of our Foundation is To fund projects and programs designed to improve patient care, treatment and, ultimately, pancreatic cancer survival rates. The UC Pancreatic Cancer Consortium (UCPCC) brings together 5 cancer centers to share their work and collaborate towards a cure. This partnership is helping to accelerate the progress and impact of the research being done while translating that research into improved patient care. The UCPCC is one of the many ways we are working to improve patient care and, ultimately, pancreatic cancer survival rates. The progress that is possible thanks to institutional collaboration is rendering research from the laboratory into patients care to improve outcomes more rapidly than ever before.
