This film is a remarkable account of the making by Sculptor Laurence Edwards of larger than life bronze figures in Suffolk. We see the 'Creek Men' emerging both into the world and the landscape around them, and their journey up the river Alde on an especially constructed raft. They were placed at Snape Maltings in front of the reed beds to be part of the Aldeburgh Festival in 2008. An internationally renowned sculptor, Edwards' enthusiasm for his work is infectious. He draws on the history of his surroundings and ancient burial sites like Sutton Hoo in Suffolk. The very magnificence of his work stands out as does his daring in creating such large works using the lost wax bronze casting method.
