The United States has redeployed artillery and anti-missile systems from South Korea to the Middle East without Seoul's approval, straining the decades-old alliance. President Donald Trump is also pressing South Korea and Japan to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz, a request Seoul's ruling party says may violate domestic law.
