What started as a fly fishing mission for bull trout and cutthroat quickly turned into an unforgettable adventure. We hit the road, chasing wild trout in remote mountain waters, only to find that our first spot was already taken. So, we pivoted, drove another two hours to a creek we've always wanted to fish… and it turned out to be the best decision ever!! We woke up to an empty trailhead and had the entire fishery to ourselves. After bushwhacking through thick brush, we stumbled upon a series of untouched pools loaded with cutthroat trout aggressively rising to dry flies. It was nonstop action, run after run, riffle after riffle, filled with eager wild trout. We threw dry flies and terrestrials for aggressive cutthroat and swung streamers, hoping for a bull trout, and it paid off.
