Morris and traditional dance is a HUGE part of our festival. Morris and the other dance sides are a vital part of our event, bringing colour and an extra dimension to the festival, where they perform around the site and in the town centre. As well as the on-site procession, we have a parade through the town centre, taking dance to the people of Shrewsbury, on the Saturday afternoon, usually led by the Mayor of Shrewsbury. Shop assistants and people in the town usually get a few surprises! This film collates some of the teams and dances from around the festival site and Shrewsbury with MC Steve Earwicker. They are: Hammersmith Morris / St Mary’s Church Mortimer Morris / The Sqaure Clog dancer Carol Robinson from Stone Monkey / St Mary’s Church Three Spires Morris – Village Stage Shropshire Sharpshins Rapper – The Square Stone Monkey – The Square Pig Dyke Molly – St Alkmonds Shrewsbury Morris – Village Stage Shrewsbury Lasses – Village Stage Gaorsach Rapper – The Dance Tent To enjoy more virtual festival fun, go to www.shrewsburyfolkfestival.co.uk/virtually-sff-2020/.
