Especially when approaching urban areas or crossing state borders. Traffic Heaviest near Kolkata exit & near Varanasi, plus towns in between. At night traffic may ease, but risks include potholes, unlit stretches, and slower moving vehicles. Delays / Diversions Due to highway widening / maintenance, some diversions. Toll / checkpoint delays possible. Fuel / rest stops may add to time. Toll Plazas You will encounter multiple toll plazas. For example, from Kolkata ↔ Varanasi there are tolls like Mohania, Sasaram, Rasoiya Dhamna, Nivedita Setu, etc. Toll Costs For a car/jeep/van, on one route the total toll is reported as ≈ ₹ 875 from Varanasi → Kolkata.
