Carving Lines

Carving Lines was something that we dreamt up with our friend and filmmaker, Dmitry Surnin. He's always wanted to mix art with a human powered sport of some kind and we had the right artist in mind - Kristin Vantrease. Kristin is a talented printmaker and like most of us Alaskans, spends a lot of her time exploring the outdoors. Her work often reflects the landscapes and experiences from her adventures and when she collaborated with Kaladi Brothers Coffee, she created a beautiful linocut print titled “Decisions”. The piece features iconic backcountry ski areas, with Turnagain Pass at the top of the list. The artwork was used across a collection of merchandise sold by Kaladi Brothers Coffee and 20% of all sales from the collection were donated to local avalanche organizations - totaling over $14,000.
