I'll give you a little background about my relationship with Zach. We both grew up in the Pacific Northwest but since we lived in the time before the internet there wasn't a chance we would have met... It was around 2005 when I by chance sitting at my office desk at work stumbled upon the ClassicRefuseTrucks.com web page and began my renaissance into the historical preservation of garbage trucks, which led to me getting the video footage and pictures most of you grew up watching, downloading, and learning from. The unbelievable results and connections with people all over the world has been tremendous. Zach was the first person I met venturing down this new path of mine. He is just a teeny bit younger than me, but we are similar in enough ways, and complement each other as people. What is remarkable is we were close friends for over 5 years before we actually met in person. We both have lead remarkably vibrant lives which have lead the both of us across the world and the US. We have always shared the deep bond that this odd hobby has had over our lives, which has allowed us to endure as friends over long distances, for longer than most of you have been alive. This video is my first time getting to experience a ride along with Zach. I have never seen him on route in all the time I have known him. I know his obsessive perfectionism to be the best at whatever he chooses to be. He is a rare person. He is a remarkable driver, with exceptional skill that only a perfectionist commercial front load enthusiast can have. It was fun going on a ride with you. He only does this route part time because today he mostly works on the media end of his business at a website called www.refusetruckphotography.com. So for anybody who salivates over historical documentation, excellent photographs, and compelling stories from the waste industry go there and enjoy.
