God showed him the Promised Land from far away (Deuteronomy 34:1–4). Moses had led Israel for forty years, but he would not enter the land himself. Because of his earlier sin (Numbers 20:12), God told him he would only see it. Then Moses died, and the Lord Himself buried him (Deuteronomy 34:5–6). This may seem sad, but it is not a story of failure. It is a story of foundation. Moses obeyed God, taught God’s law, and prepared the people. Joshua would lead them into the land. Moses built the groundwork so others could receive the blessing. This shows God’s sovereign plan. God’s promises do not depend on one man. The covenant continues because God is faithful. Moses points forward to Jesus Christ, who not only sees the promise but brings His people into the true Promised Land—eternal life (Hebrews 3:5–6; Hebrews 11:39–40). Sometimes we work hard and do not see the final result. Yet God uses our obedience to bless future generations. Our calling is to trust Him and finish well. 📖 Bible Readings: Deuteronomy 34:1–12 (Numbers 20:12, Joshua 1:1–9, Psalm 90:1–2, Hebrews 3:5–6, Hebrews 11:39–40, 2 Timothy 4:7–8) 👨🏻💻 Teachings: Three truths about God-centered leadership: 1. Leadership has a vision and mission that must come from God. 2. Leadership means leading people from where they are to where God wants them to be. 3. Leadership has a goal that can be seen but is not always meant to be personally experienced. 💪🏼 Applications: 1. Lead with a clear vision and mission from God. 2. Lead people from who they are to who God wants them to become. 3. Lead faithfully until the end, when it is time to pass the legacy on to others. 🎙 Discussion: What foundation must we lay so that others may stand on it? 🤿 Dive Deeper: Do you know that Moses set foot in the Promised Land because of Jesus? 🙏🏼 Prayer: Father God, when I think about Moses standing on that mountain, looking at the land he would never enter, my heart feels heavy. I know there are times when I also want to see the results of everything I do. I want to finish what I start and enjoy the reward. But You are wiser than me. You see the whole story from beginning to end. Thank You that Your promises do not depend on one person, but on Your faithful love. Help me to serve You with all my heart, even if someone else receives the visible blessing. Teach me to care about obedience more than recognition. Let my life be a foundation that helps others walk closer to You. And when my work is done, let me rest in the greater promise found in Christ.
