We Tested a Local Legend… Big Mistake.

I’ve spent over 20 years in law enforcement, and I’ve seen a lot of things I can explain. This is the one thing I can’t. Back when I was a rookie on patrol, my partner and I checked out a local baseball field known for a specific urban legend. A group of college kids told us that if you parked there and turned the car off, something would appear in the backseat. We did what any cops would do: we laughed at them, cleared the area, and mocked the story. Then, out of curiosity—or maybe arrogance—we decided to test it ourselves. We parked the cruiser. We turned the lights off. And when I looked in the rearview mirror, the skepticism vanished instantly. While this wasn't my first brush with the paranormal, having an encounter while on duty changed everything.
