Amit Shah’s Point-by-Point Reply To Rahul Gandhi’s 3 Questions In S.I.R Debate Home Minister Amit Shah gave a detailed reply in the Lok Sabha to Rahul Gandhi’s three questions on electoral reforms. Shah explained why the Chief Justice of India was removed from the panel that selects Election Commissioners, saying that for 73 years there was no formal law and the Prime Minister made the appointments directly, mostly during Congress governments. He said the new law creates a clear process with a committee of the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Leader of Opposition. On legal immunity for Election Commissioners, Shah said this protection already exists for other top officials and helps them work without fear of false cases. On CCTV footage from polling booths, he stated that the law allows election petitions only within 45 days of results, and the footage is for internal use and not treated as court evidence. Shah also responded to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks about the RSS. He said the Prime Minister and he himself follow RSS ideology and that there is nothing wrong with it. He said the RSS has worked for the country and its members have made sacrifices. Shah accused the opposition of creating a false narrative of “vote chori” and misleading people about the voter list revision.
