Our final interview and garden tour is of SaltBush, which won Gold at this year's Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, show garden competition. The garden was designed by both Fiona Brockhoff and Phillip Withers and constructed by Longview Landscapes with the support of Ben Hutchinson Landscapes and Reflective Scaping. Saltbush is a garden that captures the essence of Victoria, expertly cultivated with a focus on environmental effect. Every detail is carefully picked to complement our surroundings. Each component offers a story of sustainability and thoughtful design, from repurposed lumber to recycled gravel collected from demolished sites, bricks made from recovered materials, and beautiful basalt boulders coated with lichen. Even the swimming pool has a plant-based filtration system that strives for zero waste. "The journey begins in the ‘Salt’ coastal dunes, traverses heath and wetland habitat and culminates in an inland ‘Bush’ setting."
