Love Mum's cameo at 1:07. Dad drops a roach at 1:20 and Mum scores! If it was a gift Dad wouldn't have tried to recover it. They both go for some ant pupae at 2:07 and Mum polishes off most of the smaller eggs at 3:10. Chick feed at 2:32, I missed her first dip but Mum comes for a second bath at 4:38. Dad rocks up t 5:05 and stands in the middle of the BB having a drink – not really a bath. He scratches a few times and hangs out preening for ages. It's odd how they get their legs over their wings to scratch their heads. Bales resume at 16:00 and there's a small cane toad under the first bale. Dad on left. I think Mum got a taste of bufotoxin and didn't like it. Funny toad/chick interaction at 17:25. 19:50 – Dad nails a small centipede. I think the bale at 21:13 is primarily a termite bale once the initial roaches are gone. I don't think the chicks swap out at 26:19 – the other chick was close and I think the one off-screen was making a lot of the chick noises on that last bale. The trees either side of the birdbath are Agati – Sesbania grandiflora. They produce white flowers continuously in the warmer months and you're often going to see them in the birdbath – if I leave it here. (I think it'll be staying put.) There is a variety with red flowers (and I'm pretty sure I read about a yellow version that's used medicinally in and around India. Apparently the leaves of the red flowering variety are better eating than the leaves of the white but the flowers on the white variety are better eating than the red version. You steam/stir fry/whatever you want the flowers after you remove the stamen. It's like a giant pea flower. Cheers folks!
