Iceland is an island of climactic extremes. There, people face a relentless war against the elements, and every year, tourists and citizens alike are caught off-guard by rapidly changing weather. Even well-prepared people have found themselves drifting out to sea, stuck in an erupting volcano or caught in an avalanche. That's where the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue (ICESAR) comes in. The group is dedicated to saving people from life-threatening situations caused by weather conditions.
