Using Intentionally Equitable Hospitality in Hybrid/Digital Learning/Meeting Spaces

Maha Bali has been practicing creative and equitable approaches to hybrid and virtual meetings since 2015, and my colleagues and I call our approach Intentionally Equitable Hospitality. It is an approach that recognizes the power a facilitator, coach or teacher has as "host" of a learning space, responsible for making sure everyone feels welcome, and the importance of constantly renewing our intentions to iterate towards more social justice in the space, while also considering power dynamics outside the space. NR4W Symposium 2023 Presenters included over 56 professional facilitators, business leaders, technologists, global change agents, and published scientists. Our common intellectual thread is a belief in the power of creative teams to change the world for the better.
