Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service - Marine Rescue Unit (MRU), ‘Marine Fire Two’, Turnout to reports of two people stuck in mud over on Leasowe Beach on the Wirral last week, 09/01/2021, from the River Mersey Community Fire & Rescue Station located on the landing stage opposite the Pier Head. The Marine Rescue Unit operates on the River Mersey and is crewed on a 24/7 basis consisting of a officer in charge, a helmsman, and the swimmer of the watch. They attended 71 incidents across 2020.
