Pune to Bengaluru Marathon Car Trip – A Journey to Remember 🚗💨 Get ready to join me on an unforgettable **marathon car drive from Pune to Bengaluru**, a journey of 875 km across two vibrant states—Maharashtra and Karnataka. Pune to Bengaluru Route Plan Main Route: Pune → Satara → Kolhapur → Belagavi → Hubballi → Davanagere → Tumakuru → Bengaluru (Approx. Distance: 875 km | Time: 15–16 hours) Major Highway: NH48 (Pune-Bengaluru Highway) Road Condition: Smooth 6-lane highways, occasional diversions 💰 Toll Plazas: Multiple (FASTag recommended) ⛽ Fuel Stations: Well spaced out, clean restrooms available This route is known for its fast, wide roads, minimal congestion, and scenic beauty—perfect for long-distance driving lovers. ⏰ Starting Early – The Key I started from Pune just before sunrise (around 6:30 AM) to avoid city traffic and catch the morning calm on the highways. There’s something magical about: Empty roads lit by golden sunrise time The first sip of roadside chai when the world is still asleep Soft music playing as the sun slowly rises over the Deccan plateau 🌅 These early hours gave me a head start and set the perfect tone for the long drive ahead. 🚗 Car Prep and Essentials Before beginning this marathon drive, preparation was everything. In the vlog, I’ve not shown how I prepped my car and myself for this journey, will record separate vlog for but. Following are the key points to note before hit the road for long drive: ✅ Full car servicing, tyre air pressure, brake check ✅ Fuel full tank ✅ FASTag recharge & toll cash backup ✅ Emergency kit (first-aid, tools, puncture repair) ✅ Snacks, fruits, energy bars, plenty of water ✅ Offline maps for network dead zones ✅ Comfortable clothes, sunglasses, neck pillow These little breaks kept me refreshed and also added local flavours to the journey. 🌄 The Changing Landscapes One of the best parts of a marathon road trip is *watching the world change around you* as you drive. Green hills fade into sugarcane fields near Kolhapur Belagavi welcomes you with forests, red soil, and windmills The road rises and dips through the Deccan plateau Karnataka’s countryside opens up into wide farmlands Slowly, tall buildings and city traffic begin to appear as Bengaluru nears *** Took short breaks every 2-3 hours Did quick stretches at petrol pumps Stayed hydrated Avoided heavy meals during the drive (except favourite Kolhapuri Chicken) Used chewing gum/music to stay alert By pacing myself well, I stayed safe and refreshed till the very end. 🌆 The Arrival in Bengaluru After 15+ hours of non-stop driving, entering Bengaluru’s glowing skyline at night was magical. The city lights, the familiar traffic buzz, and the feeling of completing such a long drive gave me a massive adrenaline rush. Odometer showed 875+ km 3 state borders crossed 4 major food stops Countless memories made I parked the car, looked back at the long empty road behind me—and smiled. Reflections from the Road This marathon drive taught me that: Road trips are more about the journey than the destination Driving long hours builds patience, focus, and self-discipline India’s highways are stunning—every 100 km feels like a new world Solitude on the road clears your head like nothing else It reminded me why I love driving—and why every once in a while, you must leave routine behind and just drive with no limits. It’s a complete immersive road trip experience, like sitting in the passenger seat with me from start to finish.
