#GhostsTownsNz #Exploring #TheForsakenExplorerNz #Decayed #urbanExploration #Abandoned #Mortography The Forsaken Explorer Nz Ghost towns of The North Island SE-1 EPISODE-1 Featuring Ohura, Tucked away down a dirt road the town of Ohura, Ohura once was a bustling community of 650 People at its peck while it had a coal mine operating, after the coal mine shut down in 1970 the population slowly decreased, as it stands today the town only has approximately 120 residents, There are no government welfare or benefits available within the town as there is no jobs within the area, Most houses are without power or phone as they no longer service the lines out there, Many houses have been sold in mortgagee sales as people can't afford the rates as Ohura has some of the most expensive rates within New Zealand, Many houses are some of the cheapest houses to buy in New Zealand, but with rates through the roof and no power or phones or internet to most of the town, it makes this hard for potential buyer's to buy with the expenses involved, Also some of the roads to get to Ohura are some of the worst maintained roads in the country, I drove to this location in a 4wd and although I didn't feature the bad sections of roads within the video, But it was probably the worst condition road I had seen and I doubt i would have got down the road in a standard vehicle, Thanks for watching 🙂👍
