My philosophy is "If you are going to limp, go limp somewhere nice." My wife and I rode bicycles on our first date back when Moby Dick was still a guppy. We like to take Amtrak trains to new places and rent eBikes there so we don't have to bother taking ours on the train. We took these bike ride videos during a 6,160 mile Amtrak trip that we took for free. We used our train points to pay for our travel out and back as well as our room on the train and our food (if you get a room, your food is included). We stayed 2 weeks at the Naval Postgraduate School/hotel Del Monte in Monterey. The hotel Del Monte build both Pebble Beach and the 17 mile road we took this ride on. It is a wonderful place to stay and a great deal for qualifying veterans. They let active duty service members, and retirees book rooms. Since January 1, 2020, the Purple Heart and Disabled Veterans Equal Access Act of 2018 has expanded MWR access to veterans with service-connected disabilities (0-100%), Purple Heart recipients, former POWs, and their caregivers. I want to focus some of my future videos on places like this that we have stayed so that other qualified veterans can go enjoy them too. Let me by your guide to veteran travel! We live 5 miles from the KATY trail in Missouri. We will be posting lots of KATY trail videos, so subscribe if you don't want to miss them. Because we live so close, we get to experience the KATY in different seasons. Most people only ride it in the Summer, but Fall and Spring can be mighty nice on that trail.
