Yet until you understand doubt, your faith journey is incomplete. In Mark 11:23–25, two hindrances to faith are clearly revealed — doubt and unforgiveness. Doubt is lack of conviction, a state of uncertainty, double-mindedness. Going by biblical definitions, doubt is the opposite of faith. Doubt breeds fear and leads to unbelief. It’s subtle but powerful enough to stop faith from working. In this life-changing study, Grace Obomanu uncovers three vital truths about doubt that every believer should know — so we can understand how doubt affects our faith and how to overcome it. 🔥 3 Things About Doubt Every Believer should know: 1️⃣ Doubt Arises from Facts or Data that Contradict the Conviction of Faith In Matthew 14:28–31, Peter started out in faith. He stepped out of the boat at Jesus’ word and walked on water. But when he paid attention to the strong wind — the visible facts — doubt set in, and he began to sink. The wind was there all along; the problem wasn’t the storm, but the shift of focus. That’s how many believers lose ground. When we fix our eyes on challenges instead of the Word, fear takes over — and faith to weakens. Faith looks at Jesus. Doubt looks at the storm. 2️⃣ Faith Will Not Work Where There Is Conceived Doubt The temptation to doubt will always come — but you have a choice not to yield. Mark 11:23 shows that faith cannot operate where doubt is conceived. Doubt begins as contrary thoughts that challenge what you believe. It only becomes powerful when you accept those thoughts as truth. Keep speaking God’s Word and act in line with your belief. When your mouth and actions agree with your faith, doubt loses its grip. 3️⃣ Doubt Steals Your Miracle God’s Word never fails, but it doesn’t work in unbelief (Hebrews 11:6). In Mark 6:4–6, even Jesus’ people missed their miracles because of unbelief. James 1:6–8 tells us that a double-minded person — one in doubt — cannot receive from God. Doubt and fear don’t just weaken faith — they rob you of miracles. ⚔️ What to Do When Doubt or Fear Comes From Psalm 56:3–4, we learn two powerful strategies: A. Put Your Trust in God. Trusting God means taking Him at His Word — even when your senses disagree. Therefore, If fear or doubt creeps in, return to His Word and trust him aga again. B. Praise God for His Word and Promises. Thank Him for what you believe according to His Word. As you praise, your confidence in His promises grows stronger. When Peter began to sink, Jesus didn’t abandon him — He reached out and lifted him up. So, no matter how far you’ve fallen, God is with you. (Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 23:4.) Be confident in God’s love.
