One of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Savage Gulf Natural Area is Savage Falls. The ranger station/trail head is not far from the town of Gruetli-Laager, TN. Savage Creek is normally very dry during the summer and fall months causing the falls to dwindle to just a trickle. I wanted some shots of the falls with lots of water going over the top so I hiked up to the falls on an early spring day and got some really nice footage. Thankfully there was a moderate to heavy water flow in the creek and over the falls. It's about 2.5 miles from the ranger station to the falls and the overlook which makes for an easy round trip hike of 5 miles or so.
