Slumps happen to players of all levels including pros. First step to getting over a slump is to recognize you are in one and that you need to do something about it. The Key is to get your confidence back! Key Points: 1. Take a break! If you can, take a few days off from practice and relax. Training on your own 4 hours at a time 7 days a week with low confidence won't help, it will make it worse. Take 2 days off. Go watch a movie, hang out with friends or sit by the pool. The point is to relax your body and take your mind off the game for a bit. You will start to miss the game in a few days, that is the itch to get back out there! 2. Work on your mental game. Watch our "How to be Confident" and "How Not to Be Nervous Before a Game" videos. Those videos will help you a lot. Practice what they say. You work on your physical game a lot, don't forget about your mental game. 3. Don't try to change the past. You made mistakes, you didn't play well... welcome to the club! We have all been there. Focus on what you can control which is playing great and moving forward. 4. Focus on having more fun when you play. Your first session back from a slump, your goal should be to have fun and enjoy being out there again.
