30.8.2015 Peurunka, Finland. Finnish doubles final round. Game mode: Tough shot. Finnish doubles championships final with the familiar veterans Janne Hirsimäki and Teemu Nissinen (a lefty with a new doubles partner compared to the last time Finnish dubs were shown) versus Lassi Hakulinen and Jukka Leinonen from Nokia. Both teams have MPO medalists. Check out the level of the players outside of Finland: Teemu placed 9th at the previous USDGC and 16th at the Scandinavian Open coincidentally the same at The European Open with all the US top players in attendance. Lassi was aged a junior when he got his first MPO medal in Finnish championships and tied Teemu at The European Open. Janne placed 34th at the European Open and got a sponsorship from Dynamic Discs. He is a team member of Power Grip as well. Jukka placed 27th at The European Open. Jukka is a good example of an athlete check out how ripped he is. The final will push these great players hard because when you are up top you can forget about what has happened in the previous rounds because this is it you are going to be squeezed and pushed to the brink in 22 holes of tough shot format with the competition starting out so close. In effect the event starts a new just like in any endurance sport the real competition starts at 80-90 % of the distance when people are going to get weeded out when the top dogs put on the hurt by accelerating and making their bid for the victory. There is precious little margin of error on this course and the plentiful trees shall push the ability to concentrate all the way through even with the support of the playing partner. Lose focus here in the drive and you may give a few strokes to everyone. Even in the second shots. It is hard to stay in your routine when you have to continue from the place where your partner ended up in if it is an unadvantageous place. Nobody wants to put their team in a poor position so it is hard to wipe out the sense of guilt in ending up in a bad place -especially after your partner made a great drive first. It takes a mature player to succeed in tough shot doubles when a national championship is on the line and not all kind of personalities can handle the social aspects and self expectations in this high pressure situation. It will not be just a test of playing, throwing skills and athleticism in this very rough format of play. You need to be an all round well rounded personality and player simultaneously with another similarly tested player in the team if you hope to succeed in such a tight scoring spread on such a punishing course where the rough is at least as bad as the plentiful high stress out of bounds areas on the course that are strategically placed to challenge even the best players. If you recall the previous rounds it was not a drive or two that hit the first available or early tree. Now the stakes are very high it is the championship on the line and giving your partner a break from the stress requires about a perfect execution on the tee and failing in pushing your skills and luck will test the mettle of your partner on most holes. This course is no joke and can bite back hard at every turn not just in the drives although that is where the push comes to shove. Both players need to get out there to just keep up with the competition. (Video description: JR) OMG, there's second round text during hole informations. This is the final round.
