When Daft Punk’s Around the World video came out, I was instantly captivated. My enthusiasm even went so far that every time the track played in a club (where I technically wasn’t even allowed in yet, since I was still a teenager) my friends and I would reenact the dance moves from the video. Every single time, it was a highlight for me and brought me immense joy. Ever since then, I’ve associated many special moments with Daft Punk’s music. Their album Discovery ultimately turned not only me but a global audience into fans, and after seeing the Alive Tour in Düsseldorf in 2007, I knew without a doubt: this band would stay with me for life. Unfortunately, they have since split up… but who knows what the future will bring. Creating this set was a real challenge, because Daft Punk’s sound changes so much from album to album. It wasn’t easy to tell a cohesive story while making the tracks flow harmoniously together. I even scrapped an earlier version of the set that I had already recorded because I wasn’t 100% happy with it. Luckily, a new idea for this "deep cuts" episode came to me quickly, and I’m excited to finally share it with you. As with the previous sets, like those dedicated to George Michael, Billie Eilish, or Sade, you’ll notice with Daft Punk as well that life isn’t just one big party. It also contains melancholic moments that can still groove in their own way. I hope you enjoy this set. Take care of yourselves 🖤 --- This is not mixing Some DJs keep commenting “where is the mixing” under my YouTube sets. But not every episode is meant for the club or a dancefloor crowd. When I share music online, it’s less about flashy blends and more about storytelling through sound and lyrics. For me, the magic is in the selection, the sequence, and the way one track emotionally leads into the next: like chapters in a concept album. Smooth mood transitions, occasional sharp pivots, lyrical progression, rising tension, soft landings… And most importantly: most songs are perfect as they are. Why cut them short when every second is delicious! I love letting tracks breathe, unfold, and shine. --- DVS (Digital Vinyl System) DVS is a DJ technology that allows you to control digital music files on your computer / smartphone using traditional turntables with special timecode vinyl.
