Creating Whitetail Rut Stand Locations Through Habitat Improvements

One of the best parts about doing habitat work on your property is that you can create dynamite hunting locations that didn't exist previously. Here's a look at one location that we set up for this past fall. Without the habitat work we did in this area this spot wouldn't exist. But given we were willing to roll up our sleeves and get to work, we created a very fun rut hunting location. For cut stump I treat the stump with a 25% solution of Triclopyr 4/ 75% diesel or crop oil. I like to mix in applicator dye with both solutions to see where I'm spraying easier. You end up using less chemical if you mix in dye.
