Powerease Engine Pressure Washer Start-Up

This video gives an overview of the start-up procedure for pressure washers equipped with a Powerease engine. See below for links to our videos for pressure washers equipped with a Honda GC or GX engine. To start, place the unit on a flat and even surface. This will ensure your oil and fuel readings are accurate. Every time you want to use the pressure washer, you should ensure that it has enough fuel and that the engine oil is both at a sufficient level and in good condition. Use the oil dipstick to check the level. If it is too low, top up with SAE 10W30 oil. If there is no oil sight gauge on your pump, this means that is sealed and doesn’t require maintenance. If it does have a sight gauge, you will need to ensure the level and condition of the oil is in an acceptable range. If more oil is needed, use SAE 30 non-mineral oil. Once you have determined that your fluid levels are within an acceptable range, you’ll want to prep your pump. Connect the garden hose to your pump’s inlet valve and connect the high-pressure hose to the outlet. From here, connect the other end of the high-pressure hose to your spray gun. Some connections need to be threaded on, while others connect via quick-connect couplers. Now that the pump is ready, it is time to move on to the engine. On the right-hand side of the engine, you will see a power switch. Ensure this is turned to the “ON” position when starting the unit. On the left-hand side, you will see three levers. The one on the bottom is the fuel valve. This controls the flow of gasoline to the engine, so ensure that it is turned to the “ON” position when starting the unit. The lever in the middle is the choke. This is required to start a cold engine and will need to be engaged. Once the engine is up and running, however, it should be disengaged, or the unit will run poorly. The top lever is the throttle. This controls the power of the engine, so it should always be at full power. This is the setting our units are tested at, so there should be no reason to lower it. Once you have ensured each lever is in the correct position, it is time to turn on the water. Once the water is on, squeeze the trigger of your spray gun to release any built-up pressure or potential debris. Choose your desired spray tip and connect it to the tip of the gun via the quick-connect coupler. While holding the trigger of the gun down, brace the washer with your foot and pull on the recoil starter. Once the engine is warmed up and running, disengage the choke. Your washer is now ready for use! If you plan to leave the unit unattended for more than a few minutes, ensure that you turn it off. Failure to do so can cause damage to your pump.
