Everything in Yangon’s pretty much the same as always. For most people, it’s just a stopover on the way to somewhere else, or something bigger. It’s a place full of highs and lows. There are more people from other regions working here than actual Yangon locals. Many don’t even have their own place, they’re just renting and getting by. More than half their income goes to rent and transport. There are still places to explore. Just come if you know how to enjoy yourself wherever you are.
