I decided to do a little spotlight on the Ebisu books I have because of the recently released 'I Wish I Was Stupid' book by Breakdown Press in English, as well as their reprint of 'The Pits of Hell'. It's a great time to be into heta-uma! I only have the two Japanese versions of Ebisu's books, so I decided to also include some of Matsuda's books because they're pretty reminiscent of Ebisu's works. Notes: 1. The Last Exhibition of Yoshikazu Ebisu, presented by Takashi Nemoto, was held this year in September. Ebisu was diagnosed with dementia in 2014 and publicly announced that he had Lewy Body Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. The exhibition was intended to give Ebisu a final tribute, rather than letting his works fade over time 2. Yousuke Kawamura was also another artist that was associated with the start of the heta uma movement that I didn’t mention. I haven’t heard of him before so unfortunately I don’t have too much info 3. Matsuda’s illustration book is titled ‘Momoiro Junpou’ and the black and white zine is ‘Toshi' (City) Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 1:28 Pits of Hell 8:46 I Wish I Was Stupid 15:34 AX issues 18:16 Matsuda Kouichi 22:49 AX issues again 25:46 Outro Links: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/famicon_col...
