See this watch online: https://goo.gl/zx72tT Greetings, and welcome to the world of Officine Panerai. Today, I'll be your guide to the Panerai Radiomir 3 Days PAM 685. 47 millimeters and polished stainless steel, this one-of-one-thousand special series and the entire Panerai collection can be seen on our website, govbergwatches.com. The features and highlights of this historically-inspired model start with a traditional oversized, full high-polished Panerai pin buckle, makes for easy, on the fly adjustments in hot/cold, activity/inactivity periods when the size of the wrist may change on the fly. Now, it's paired with a gorgeous Panerai Ponte Vecchio natural calfskin strap with a 1970s-style Officine Panerai logo and a contrasting ecru colored stitch design to evoke mid-century patina. In profile, it's sheer cut, masculine and robust. You can see the folded profile of the leather itself, raw and natural. It evokes those mid-century Italian Navy combat watches that lend their aesthetic to this tribute model. On the underside, a supple calfskin for comfort against the skin. Unlike those vintage Panerai 3646 divers however, you can see that this watch features the look of the wire lugs with a user-friendly, screw-fixed system. Remove these screws and the wire lugs pop out and split in half for easy removal of the strap should you wish to clean the case more closely or simply change the look and functionality of your watch by fitting one of the many available Panerai factory alternative straps. Now, you can see the case is the classic Panerai Radiomir form inspired by the vintage Panerai combat reference 3646. It's slim, elegant, and aesthetically versatile, surprising for a watch designed for combat. But because of its enduring appeal and its easy fit on any number of wrist sizes, this watch endures not just into the modern age but reigns as an icon. The 685 adds another wrinkle to the story of the Radiomir. It features the 12-sided, screwed-on bezel seen a number of Panerai prototypes presented to Italian Navy authorities for review. Now, perhaps as few as 12 of these were originally produced. Today, exceptionally rare, they bring top value at auctions but this 1,000-piece limited series makes this unusual and highly desirable aesthetic available to the Paneristi worldwide. Now, the watch features both the signature Brevettato patent bezel, notifying authorities at the time that the watch featured Panerai's patented Radiomir luminescent dial paint. But it also frames a historically authentic thermoplastic or plexiglass crystal that produces gorgeous off-axis distortion in vintage fashion. Now, the dial is a traditional Panerai sandwich style with a stencil featuring the numerals and the indices atop a luminescent disc. Although this features the ecru color evocative of vintage Patina, make no mistake, it is modern Super Luminova paint. And not only does it glow brilliantly at night, but because of the sandwich structure of the dial, it has a three-dimensional effect that is both beautiful and haunting. Of course, the hands at center are luminescent and made of rose gold for a striking luxury statement. After all, Officine Panerai is a purveyor of luxury sports watches, each in equal measure. The movement inside is a manufacture Panerai caliper 3000. Now, you can see it's designed in a style evocative of the pocket watch calipers that powered historic Panerai timepieces but executed to a much higher technical and aesthetic standard. Now, you can see the three-quarter style bridge with twin mainspring barrels opposed to a dual-anchored balance bridge with a free sprung index. Those two features, a balance bridge and a free sprung index, making the watch robustly resistant to shock-induced timing deviation. And the watch features a superb power reserve of three days, far more than the industry standard of 38 to 42. It also features the refinement of a time zone function such that the crown, when screwed out, can be set forward or backward in one-hour increments, as many as necessary, while traveling east/west without affecting the minute hand in the process. This timepiece, historically evocative, rare with only 1,000 pieces produced, and unique amongst Panerai Radiomir models, can be seen along with the entire collection of Panerai fine timepieces on our website, https://goo.gl/zoQy69.
