Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina had been on our list for a long time - a small town with so much history, centred around the iconic Stari Most and the bright blue Neretva River. We spent 48 hours here in the middle of winter, not really knowing what to expect. Over three days, we experienced rain, sun, and snow and saw a completely different side of Mostar compared to the busy summer photos you usually see. What we experienced in Mostar 👇 🏛️ Walking across the famous Stari Most and exploring the old town 🗺️ Joining a free walking tour to understand Mostar’s complex history and post-war recovery 🤿 Learning about the bridge divers who leap into the freezing river below ☕ Sitting down for traditional Bosnian coffee in one of the oldest cafés 🍽️ Trying local Bosnian food around the old town 🍗 And somehow ending up at KFC — and a small local bakery that turned out to be the cheapest meal of our entire Europe trip ❄️ Experiencing Mostar in winter — quieter streets, slower days, and a very different atmosphere This video is our honest experience spending 48 hours in Mostar, and whether it’s worth staying longer or visiting as part of a Balkans road trip.
