I have been waiting all summer to make this passion fruit habanero hot sauce. My passion fruit vines have been off the charts and I was so glad I made a big batch of my favorite homemade hot sauce. The combination of habanero (don't underestimate this pepper it can range from 100,000 to 350,000 on the Scoville Chart!) and the sweet and tangy passion fruit with some mango make this one incredible hot sauce. I strongly suggest using some kind of sweetener like maple syrup. I use two, because I got a spicy maple syrup because it was only 99 cents! (cue the Macklemore song...) This is a large batch compared to my single batch video here: • 7 steps to make any Hot Sauce | Cayenne Pu... Recipe: 1 orange bell pepper 3 habanero 2 yellow chili peppers 3 garlic cloves half a yellow onion lemon (I just use this to roast it and use the inside lemon, not the rind) 5 passion fruit pulp half a large mango (use as much as you need to soften the heat from the habanero) spices (mustard seed, coriander, star anise, szechuan pepper, black pepper, all spice) - feel free to add ones you like. (ginger, cloves, cinnamon, etc.) 2–3 tablespoons maple syrup/spicy maple syrup (or honey, or white or brown sugar) (don't forget some acid like lime or lemon juice if necessary) salt to taste. Roast veggies and peppers for 10–15 min at 400F Boil for 10 minutes with the spices. Strain the veggies from the liquid, keep the liquid. Blend the veggies and peppers, add the fruit, add some liquid to thin it out as needed, add sweetener, add salt, probably add more fruit/sweetener if it's too fricking hot.
