The Sliven mobile team – a bridge between two worlds

With care and positive attitude, the mobile team in Sliven has managed to win the trust of the people in the district. "Nadezhda". "This is a closed community where they hardly allow outsiders", says Deyana Topalova. "It's difficult until they feel that we are closer to them," adds Darina Vladova, a social worker at the CSSS of the CSC Sliven, supported by UNICEF. Every day, Deyana and Darina go into neighbourhoods and villages where other services do not reach to help vulnerable children and families. In two years the social workers have visited 217 families and supported 97 children. The mobile team was recruited under the European Child Guarantee pilot project, which is funded by the European Commission and implemented by UNICEF Bulgaria.
