Thus is a 60km loop up using the coastal cycle way to get from Puertao del Carmen to Playa Honda and then taking the steep ascent to San Bartolome then over to Tanajo almost on the opposite coast before cycling through the stunning Timanfaya national volcanic park. You come out of the park at Yaiza and then is then a short stretch of nasty cycling on the shoulder of the very busy LZ-2 before you can cut down to Puerta Calerio and the much quieter coast road than runs to Puerto del Carmen.
