Disable VPN VPNs may block mail connections. Disconnect from VPN and remove its configuration from System Settings - VPN - Info - Remove Configuration. 3. Restart Your Mac Restarting clears temporary glitches. Go to Apple menu - Restart, and uncheck “Reopen windows” before confirming. 4. Check Internet Connection Ensure you're connected to stable Wi-Fi. Mail won’t sync without an active, reliable connection. 5. Refresh Mail App Open Mail - Mailbox - Synchronize iCloud to fix syncing issues and fetch new emails. 6. Enter Correct Password If prompted for a login keychain password, enter your Mac user account password to authenticate the Mail app. 7. Enable Mail Account Open Mail - Settings - Accounts tab. Make sure “Enable this account” is checked for your email account. 8. Check Mail Activity In Mail, go to Window - Activity to see if emails are downloading slowly due to large attachments. 9. Disable Firewall/Security Software Firewall might block Mail. Go to System Settings - Network - Firewall and temporarily turn it off to test. 10. Check Email Quota Right-click Inbox - Get Account Info to see storage usage. Delete emails if quota is full. 11. Enable Spotlight for Mail Go to Apple menu - System Settings - Spotlight and toggle Mail on to fix indexing/search issues. 12. Update macOS Go to System Settings - General - Software Update. Install updates to fix bugs and improve app performance. 13. Check Apple Servers Visit the Apple System Status page. Look for issues with iCloud Mail. 14.
