Liposuction is not painful because this is a procedure which is done under anaesthesia. Anaesthesia means painless. It can be done under local anaesthesia where only that part of the body is made numb and the procedure is done or it can be done under general anaesthesia where you are fully put to sleep, you won’t know anything and then the fat is removed. Once the procedure is done you will be given some mild painkillers to take care of the postoperative pain. Painkillers will be usually something like paracetamol and most people does not require anything much more stronger that this to recover from liposuction. The pain and discomfort may last for almost three to five days. So you need to take medication for three to five days to control the pain and discomfort.
