Introducing Autistic Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond: Your Questions Answered!

Swansea University, Autistic Parents UK, and Autistic UK have spent the last year building a collection of videos, which aim to fill some of the information gaps Autistic people have told us they had during their pregnancy. Autistic people did all of the decision-making on the project. Even better, all of the content was created by Autistic people. This included a range of Autistic maternity professionals: midwives, lactation consultants, an occupational therapist and an anaesthetist to name a few. Alongside this, Autistic parents told us about their experiences of specific parts of the maternity journey. We hope that these resources will help Autistic parents to feel better informed, but also that they will be a useful resource for those supporting Autistic people during the maternity period. The “Autistic pregnancy, birth and beyond: your questions answered” resources: a suite of over 100 videos, are now being added to the ‪@AutismMenstruationToMenopause‬ YouTube channel.
