Woodturning-Eugenia crotch Bowl

This was my first Eugenia woodturning. I had no idea what to expect when I started. It was on the softer side of wood. I have been trimming Eugenia for many years. It’s often used as hedges. It’s a very vigorous growing tree. When trimmed like a hedge it grows a couple feet a year. When left to grow as a tree, it can get very heavy and branches will break off. Because of the hedge situation, I rarely see it big enough to consider turning it. Well someone asked me to remove 2 of them that were growing very close to his house. Oh and I forgot to mention that they have a berry like fruit that grows on them. ( some are edible and made into jam) And these trees dropped a hundred pounds of this fruit on the roof of the house every year. It was just time for them to go. When I saw that the trunk was straight and plenty large enough to turn I picked out a crotch section to turn. It turned out to be a very nice piece of wood, with a really nice grain in the crotch section. If not for that it would have been a rather plain looking bowl. I read that this tree is often used for lumber tropical areas. Well enough of me boring you with details. I hope the video, thank you for watching.
