Police Shooting of Omar Cueva

WARNING GRAPHIC VIDEO On February 4, 2021, 39 year old Omar Felix Cueva was shot and killed after getting into a shootout with police. Earlier Cueva was pulled over by Officer Darian Jarrott for having dark tinted windows. Officer Jarrott and Cueva have a conversation until later Officer Jarrott tells Cuvea they can check his birth date and others at his cop car. Officer Jarrott sees a fire arm on Cueva waist and asks if he can take it off for his safety. Officer Jarrott then moves the fore arm away from Cueva and says alright and tells Cueva to come to his vehicle. Cuvea gets out and walks out with an AR-15 and pulls it out on Officer Jarrott and starts to shoot at Officer Jarrott. Officer Jarrott fell on the ground, but was not struck until Cuvea ran to him and shot again, striking Officer Jarrott. Cuvea then fired one more shot into the back of Officer Jarrott’s head. Cuvea then ran back into his truck and drove off. More Police Officers and an HSI agent then showed up and rendered aid to Officer Jarrott, but Officer Jarrott died at the scene, he was only 29 and he was expecting his fourth child to be born soon. HSI wanted Officer Jarrott to pull over Cueva. Cuvea called the undercover cop and said he got pulled over by a cops and that he would not give them a chance. HSI had two plans and that was to arrest him on the interstate or when the undercover cop gives them the go to arrest him after he sees the narcotics. Cuvea was trying to drive tithe undercover cop who he was unaware was a cop. Cuvea then gets into a chase with other cops and the cops were trying to stop Cuvea by trying to put out spikes to pop his tires, but Cuvea would dodge them. Cuvea would also fire his weapon at Officers during the chase out of the back of his window and the Officers sided their shoulders to dodge his shots. The chase went for around 30 miles until Officer Adrian De La Garza did the PIT maneuver to Cuvea, which was successful. Then Cuvea got out of his car and fired his pistol at Officer Garza, striking him in the arm.Officer Garza at and other Officers fired their guns at Cuvea to. Cuvea was struck by gunfire and fell on the ground. Cuvea died from his wounds. Officer Garza recovered from his injury to his arm. Cuvea has had a criminal history with police. He was arrested for vandalism when he was 13 years old. I recommend you read these articles.
