On the River Sarayu in Ayodhya

Sarayu is an important river in Indian mythology. It is on the banks of Saryu river that Ayodhya of Ram and Ramayan is situated. It is at the Guptaar ghat on Sarayu River that Lord Ram took Jal Samadhi and left this world. Sarayu is a wide river and a boat ride across it would take you through its sandy beaches where you can see rituals being performed. A little upstream you can see birds on the banks of the river. Ghats of Ayodhya are located on the banks of Sarayu. On a boat ride, you can see the skyline of Ayodhya and its long bridge. In the evening, Sarayu Arti is performed at one of the ghats of Ayodhya - it is a nice little spectacle to explore.
