Welcome to MTB ALAN’s 2019 CRASHmas Special where I give you the gift of this year’s top 10 mountain bike crashes from the MTB ALAN Channel. *See below for rider, trail, and location information for each crash. When we mountain bike, we know that we're likely to crash at some point. The worst crashes are the ones that break you or your bike...and sometimes both. Those are the crashes that can bring your day on the trails to an end. And if they're really bad, they can keep you off the bike for weeks. Good crashes are those ones where you can get up, dust yourself off, and deal with the trail kisses. Your bike might need a little field maintenance, but nothing is too broken, and you're still able to enjoy the rest of the ride. The best crashes are the ones where you and your buddies think you're about to step into the long, dark hallway of pain and recovery. Limbs and wheels go flying, but when the dust clears, you realize that you and the bike are totally fine. You and the crew laugh, high-five, and get right back to being rad. Based on that, I am ranking these crashes by how untouched the rider, bike, and ride quality are after the crash. And I am awarding points for how crazy the crash is.
