This program example is one of the most powerful in the programming manual for the Heidenhain TNC 155/151. It shows how to make the controller call a program from another program. It's a similar concept to a subprogram, but in this case the called program is stand alone, not embedded in the calling program. That allows the called program to used by many other programs. In this example the called program happens to mimic the canned cycle for peak drilling almost exactly. So what it tells you is that you can make your own canned cycles for whatever machining procedure you wish then call from other programs.
