(23 Oct 1998) Natural Sound More Serbian police have arrived in Kosovo. Serb authorities say they've been sent in to protect Albanian Catholics who say they are being harassed by separatist fighters. Albanian Catholics are a minority in the province. At least five thousand Serb police remain on duty in Kosovo, with new units regularly rotated in for a period of duty. Serb police have been sent to guard a Catholic Albanian village whose inhabitants claim they are being harassed by soldiers of the Kosovo Liberation Army (K-L-A). This morning a column of police marched into the village of Nebolje, south-east of Pec. As some stood on guard around the village, others shared a brandy with the Albanian Catholics, who are a minority in the Province. At least five thousand Serb police are still on duty in Kosovo, and new units are regularly rotated in for a period of duty. In the village of Glodanje the latest batch of arrivals was shown how to use, and defuse, explosives. But despite reports of sporadic violence in the Serb province, the police appeared relaxed. They ended their day with an informal game of football.
