"I'm Like the Rain" ~ Glenn Andrew Walsh

Just a little ditty. It’s all me on this record... A very young me! Written in 1995 ~ one of those songs that came so quickly I don’t even remember writing it. It just arrived! lol. It's amazing when that happens. Recorded in 2002 ~ in my bedroom, using my then-brand-new Akai DPS16, a cutting-edge 16-track digital workstation that was a big deal when it came out in 2001. (Totally irrelevant today, of course.) Most people know me as a rock/metal guy, so it might come as a surprise that I’ve always written songs like this. Being the youngest of five, I grew up on a steady stream of Simon & Garfunkel, John Denver, Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, James Taylor, America, Bread… all the great acoustic singer-songwriters and bands of the ’60s and ’70s. ~ That’s the music that shaped me, and the stuff I still listen to the most today. Not rock. Not metal. So writing mellow, folky, acoustic songs comes naturally to me. In fact, 99% of what I write is mellow acoustic music.
